Friday was a busy day for Elvis with two therapy visits, a hospice visit, and shopping at the Army surplus store.
We spent the morning doing half of our regular therapy visits, one to the local hospital’s rehab center and one to an assisted living center. A lady at the assisted living center is afraid of dogs but after nearly four years of visiting, Elvis has won her over. Not only did she scratched his ears but kissed him on the nose.
We received a call from the hospice organization where we volunteer, that a lady asked to see a dog. We scheduled an afternoon visit so after Elvis’ morning visits, spent about 45 minutes visiting with her, her daughter and son-in-law. Her daughter told us that she hadn’t seen her mother smile like that in a very long time.
We ended the afternoon with a trip to the Army surplus store, which I was pleased to find that they admit dogs on leashes. Elvis had a good time exploring all the smells and even checked out the camouflage.
